About Us

There are an estimated 30 million Americans with a Rare Disease. There are three or four of us directly impacted by a loved one with Rare Disease … parents, neighbors, siblings, bosses, pastors, teachers, medical professionals, researchers, etc. … that’s 100 Million Americans … the Rare Army!

1 in 10 Americans have a Rare Disease … 30 million of us. The Rare Army is the 100 million of us directly affected by these loved ones!

Rare Army is a suite of applications to Engage, Encourage, Educate, Equip, & Empower the 100 million of us who love someone with a Rare Disease to improve their quality of life.

There are four primary legs on the Rare Army “stool”:

  • Awareness & Engagement about Rare Disease
  • Education about Policy & Regulation affecting the Rare Disease community
  • Media & Messaging about Rare Disease
  • Understanding the Rare Disease community

We are not a lobbying organization and we do not create policy, rather we inform the public of rare disease issues and provide education & mechanisms for them to become engaged.

Our focus is US rare disease patients and issue, but we are interested in discussing how we can help those in other countries as well.

Rare Army is organized as a Public Benefit Corporation. We are an approved 501c3 charity, EIN 82-3587338. Donations are fully tax deductible.
